There’s no word on if this feature will come to Job Simulator and Rick and Morty VR. When the Quest version launches this feature will be included from day one later this year. The subtitles update is out now on Steam and Oculus Home with the PSVR update coming soon. When you’re streaming or recording footage, they’re shown at the bottom of the screen in Spectator Mode to make for a better viewer experience. They’re shown at the depth of the speaker so they feel anchored and even go transparent when you need to interact with things behind them. In a blog post about the update, the company details the process and methodology of adding support emphasizing the importance of making them feel like they “belong” in the world so as to avoid words simply floating for no reason in your field of view. Just like everything Owlchemy Labs does, the subtitles feel like organic parts of the world in Vacation Simulator and are super playful. “From the deaf and hard of hearing community to players around the world, everyone deserves a vacation.” “Crafting subtitles in VR required a massive overhaul of industry best practices-but we truly believe in ‘VR for Everyone’ and are proud to bring VR to a whole new audience with this update,” says Peter Galbraith, Developer at Owlchemy Labs, in a prepared statement. Coincidentally, the news comes just a day after Sanzaru Games and Oculus Studios announced similar support is coming to Asgard’s Wrath soon as well. Supported subtitle languages include English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish which is a great selection of option for players around the world. That looks like a more thorough entry into the genre that we’ll hopefully see on PSVR too at some point.Today Owlchemy Labs released a major update for Vacation Simulator that adds in subtitles for multiple languages along with a slew of visual enhancements to aid accessibility for players. Vacation simulator and job simulator are two of the most cleanest looking and mechanically tight PSVR experiences available. Over on the PC VR side, promising train simulator Derail Valley will be arriving later this week. Vacation Simulator Revealed for PSVR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive Coming in 2018 By Ryan Meitzler Published Owlchemy Labs revealed that their next title is Vacation Simulator. We don’t know when A-Train Express will be officially announced for PS4 but keep an eye out for it. Still, it’s the closest thing PSVR fans have to a proper simulation right now. We wouldn’t hold out hope for any significant additions to the game since the Japanese release, either. This apparently just lets you view certain cityscapes as VR dioramas. PSVR support includes a ‘VR Railroad Model Mode’. Sadly, though, it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to actually drive trains in VR. There’s a driving mode that gives you a first-person view of the action, though the game’s mainly concerned with making everything run on time. In the game, you build your own railways and develop cities around them. The ESRB listing suggests it’s on its way to the US. It’s a train simulator that released in Japan in late 2017. Gematsu recently spotted an Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) listing for A-Train Express. That said, it looks like the first PSVR train simulator is indeed on the way. It’s a surprisingly untapped market for such a dedicated audience. Not the silly type that star goats, I mean actual simulators. You know what PSVR doesn’t have enough of? Simulation games.
